JASON WRIGHT of JASON WRIGHT ONLINE http://www.jasonwrightonline.com/ has absolutely no affiliation with any current popular and/or blatantly boring manifestations of social networking; i.e.: facebook or Twitter, etc. (Blah!)
(Unfortunately, (for whatever reasons) an influx of abhorrent malcontents relentlessly attempt to defame and bastardize the good name of JASON WRIGHT, The Licensed Professional, The Dictator of Doo-Wop, The Ayahtollah of Rock and Rollah, The Tortured Artist (still) In Residence (globally) AND The Last DJ.
(No doubt, due in part to envious colleagues and/or ex-femme-fatales.) i.e.: Dragon Ladies, Parts 1, 2 & 3.
JASON WRIGHT - Radio Personality, DJ, Audio Production, Commercials, Voice Overs, Media Consultant, Musician
In order to not be a pretender you must, Flaunt your imperfections. Profit from adversity. Do not mind. Give mind. (Otherwise, you will be like all the rest; wannabes and haters.)
Never underestimate the power of music, the internet; moreover, the power of all individuals striving to be as one.
Sometime ago, (in the late 1950's to be exact) JASON WRIGHT was transported to Earth; from a far away galaxy, in order to quite simply provide "terra-novas," with a bit of respite; from their seemingly hum-drum, Madison Avenue infused lives.
With that said, and after some introductory instruction in piano, percussion, various dining utensils (for proper etiquette here on Earth;) along with the latest "devices" from Steinway, Hammond, Fender, Ludwig, AKG, Sony, Studer, Neve, Shure and of course, Neumann; [the aforementioned are all quite commonplace on Mizar 5, as this was their origin,] JASON WRIGHT set about the arduous, but rather fulfilling task of casting a brilliant light wherever JASON WRIGHT's talents were accepted.
500,000 earthlings (JASON WRIGHT's Loyal Phandom) on a nightly basis (for example) would tune into a primitive earth-based device; of which JASON WRIGHT refers to as an "FM tuner," as the sole instrument/device for JASON WRIGHT's Loyal Phandom to listen to Jason Wright's insouciant on-air ramblings; all to the soundtrack of 1950's and 1960's music.
The FM station was (and alas still is) WODS-Oldies 103.3, er, FM, in Boston, Massachusetts.
There was no "phoning in your work" here kids! That is unless you choose to wallow in the fettered and festering quagmire of mediocrity, (which, unfortunately, is standard practice for commercial corporate radio today) as sadly as many of JASON WRIGHT's former colleagues have chosen to do.
JASON WRIGHT, for one, chose not to take that route.
Boston, as JASON WRIGHT presumes, is populated by savvy people, spacing up all of Boston's top-notch universities and colleges; not to mention all of your garden variety city hipsters and omnipotent lounge lizards, spread out along the Charles River and clear out into the comfy 'burbs; points north, west and south.
In retrospect, pondering JASON WRIGHT's ten-year gig at Oldies 103.3, somewhere, through all the countless bootleg recordings of Jason Wright Oldies 103.3's radio shows, (collecting dust in someone's attic or long-forgotten cassette deck,) the ten years worth of radio signals JASON WRIGHT created (as in "50,000 watts behind my thoughts baby!") are, even as you read this, still traveling out, far and wide, to distant galaxies, eternally.
It was (real) major market radio; live and in living colour, one take, no dress rehearsal, stretching the formatic boundaries of corporate media. The results; 500,000 dedicated listeners, top ratings; whilst JASON WRIGHT maintained true artistic integrity; of which past and present "artists" lay claim.
Given the fact that any major market FM signal roughly encompasses a limited 70-mile radius, www.jasonwrightonline.com/ is here, as a beacon of hope and light, for JASON WRIGHT's 500,000 faithful listeners, (The Loyal Phandom) and corporate media executives who have grown weary of cookie-cutter radio, and now, for anyone, anywhere in the world.

Oh yes, (more) aboutJASON WRIGHT...
30 years in broadcast media, (old school, you know?), slip-cueing vinyl; holding copy to read live, while simultaneously groping and manhandling analog mixing boards (with knobs the size of a Buick!) Then, all at once, Jason Wright was suddenly transported into major market radio "tech-heaven," with a 500,000 Arbitron-rated core listener base (The LOYAL PHANDOM!)
That was JASON WRIGHT; at the aforementioned CBS owned and operated, WODS-OLDIES 103.3 FM, Boston, Massachusetts.
Meanwhile,Jason Wrightalways remained true to his craft; keeping it real and never phoning it in; which emphatically explains why JASON WRIGHT's Arbitron ratings were always in the TOP-3 during Jason Wright's 10-year stay at OLDIES 103.3; albeit, does not explain why JASON WRIGHT weathered 5 CBS "management teams," who collectively had no clue with what to do with "The Best-Kept Secret" in Boston radio.
However, The Loyal Phandom knew. Precisely.
Ever had the feeling you've been cheated?

"AROUND THE DIAL"
Radios of the world are tuning in tonight, Are you on the dial, are you tuned in right? One of our D.J.'s is missing. Are you listening? Are you listening to me? Can you hear me? Can you hear me clearly? Around the dial.
I've been around the dial so many times, But you're not there. Somebody tells me that you've been taken off the air. Well, you were my favorite D.J., Since I can't remember when. You always played the best records, You never followed any trend. F.M., A.M. where are you? You gotta be out there somewhere on the dial. On the dial.
(Are you ready) We're going 'round the dial, (Are you listening) Around the dial, (Are you tuned in) Around the dial, (Are you searchin') Around the dial. F.M., A.M. where are you? You gotta be out there somewhere on the dial. On the dial.
Where did you go Mr. D.J.? Did they take you off the air? Was it something that you said to the corporation guys upstairs? It wasn't the pressure, You never sounded down. It couldn't be the ratings, You had the best in town. Somehow I'm gonna find ya, track you down. Gonna keep on searchin', Around and around and 'round and 'round...
(They're searchin') Around the dial, (They're listenin') Around the dial, (Poor station) The best in town, (Poor D.J.) Who never let us down. While the critics kept on knocking you, You just kept on rocking around the dial. Around the dial.
I've been searchin' for you on my radio. This time your station really must have gone underground Somebody said you had a minor nervous breakdown. Was it something that you heard, Or something that you saw, That made you lose your mind, Did you lose control. Did you step out of line? If you're there, give us a sign.
I can't believe that you've been taken off the air. Think I'll sell my radio now that you're not there. You never gave in to fashion, You never followed any trends, All the record bums tried to hack you up, But you were honest to the end. Gonna keep my radio on, 'Till I know just what went wrong. The answer's out there somewhere on the dial. On the dial.
Can you hear me (around the dial) Are you listenin' (around the dial) Are you out there (around the dial) Can you hear me? Around the dial.
Well you can't turn him into a company man You can't turn him into a whore And the boys upstairs just don't understand anymore
Well the top brass don't like him talking so much And he won't play what they say to play And he don't want to change what don't need to change
And there goes the last DJ Who plays what he wants to play And says what he wants to say Hey, hey, hey And there goes your freedom of choice There goes the last human voice There goes the last DJ
Well some folks say they're gonna hang him so high Because you just can't do what he did There's some things you just can't put in the minds of those kids As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free
And there goes the last DJ Who plays what he wants to play And says what he wants to say Hey, hey, hey And there goes your freedom of choice There goes the last human voice And there goes the last DJ
Well he got him a station down in Mexico And sometimes it will kinda come in And I'll bust a move and remember how it was back then
There goes the last DJ Who plays what he wants to play And says what he wants to say Hey, hey, hey And there goes your freedom of choice There goes the last human voice And there goes the last DJ
One of the many perks of being a major-market DJ, affords one, (who consistently prays to the radio gods) to meet, speak and interview one's heroes; namely DONALD FAGEN and WALTER BECKER, aka, STEELY DAN. (Surf to Streaming Channel 3)

Ever hear of a band called THE STRANGLERS? (...or THE RAMONES?)
(The Stranglers were the opening act for THE RAMONES' first [and still] legendary U.K. concerts; generally regarded, to the enlightened, as the nucleus of the Punk Rock genre.)
On October 7, 2001, Jason Wright interviewed his long-standing, music comrade, the infamous HUGH CORNWELL, (Founder/Songwriter/Lead Guitarist/Lead Vocalist) of the legendary British rock band, THE STRANGLERS. The interview carries in-depth insight into the recording process of Hugh Cornwell's (then) latest release, "Hi-Fi," (which was basically inspired by one of Hugh's heroes; ARTHUR LEE of the '60's psychedelic band, LOVE) in addition to speaking about Hugh Cornwell's (unbelievable!) appearance at THE BULL RUN in Shirley, MA (October 11, 2001.)
The interview and Hugh Cornwell's appearance at THE BULL RUN, (of which Jason Wright was most-instrumental) garnered both rave reviews and major press in THE BOSTON GLOBE.
